Stage Manager, Playwright, Producer, and Researcher
Ibukun Fasunhan is a producer, stage manager, playwright, producer, and researcher. As a national/international artist whose works have graced different theatres globally in London, United Arab Emirates, and South Africa, amongst others, his interest spans the area of musical theatre, site-specific theatre, and children’s theatre. He was selected as one of the five African theatre producers to participate in the “Pan-African Creative Exchange Producers Lab” in South Africa and the “Playwright Virtual Lab” between 6 Nigerian and UK emerging playwrights.
Academically, he is interested in site-specific theatre, applied theatre, spectatorship, spatial dynamics, and decolonization. He has published peer-reviewed academic articles documenting site-specific theatre practice in Nigeria, including a co-authored book on Cultural and Creative Arts for students in Nigeria from Basic 7-9. Ibukun is the artistic director of Eclectique Theatre, and he’s currently pursuing his doctoral studies in media and artistic research at the University of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.
